A two-lecture series was successfully organized at Government College Alewa under the joint auspices of the Placement Cell and the Department of Botany, with the objective of fostering holistic development and an employment-oriented mindset among students.
The main speaker and resource person for the series was Dr. Sanjay Arora, Associate Professor, Department of Botany, Government College Mangali (Hisar).
The topic of the first lecture was “Career Opportunities through Environmental Awareness and Sustainability.”
Dr. Arora elaborated on the role of environmental awareness and sustainability in shaping future careers. He emphasized that adopting green thinking is not only essential for environmental protection but also opens up new avenues of employment in the modern world.
The second lecture focused on “Green Thinking for a Better Future: Careers that Create Impact.”
In this session, Dr. Arora inspired students to adopt a sustainable lifestyle and explained various green career options such as environmental management, biodiversity conservation, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, waste management, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and environmental education.
He highlighted that students from all streams — science, arts, and commerce — can contribute meaningfully to society and the environment by pursuing such impactful careers.
The program was jointly coordinated by Ms. Seema Kashyap, Placement Cell Incharge, and Mrs. Sunita Duggal from the Department of Botany.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Nidhi Gupta, Officiating Principal, Government College Alewa, expressed gratitude to the resource person and remarked that such lectures help students develop an environmental outlook and motivate them to choose careers based on sustainability and social responsibility.
